Field of Flags

On 5 November 2025 City of Myrtle Beach Public Works with approximately 30 volunteers from several Veterans organizations including VVA Chapter 925 helped to mount a field of American Flags located in an open ares within War Bird Park, Market Common. There were 250 flags mounted on this day. The flags will be on display until Veterans Day 2025. They will be remounted on Memorial Day 2026. The flags start from the first flag by Besty Ross showing the thirteen colonies to presnt.  What is the field of flags, is a touching display honors our country’s brave veterans and brings attention to their meaningful sacrifice. While there’s no specific time to create this eye-catching exhibit, it’s common to see them on military holidays like Memorial Day and Veterans Day. The below pictures show the magnuitude of this project

Lawmakers, Military Veterans and Volunteers cleaning the Vietnam Wall

On May 25, 2025, a bipartisan group of lawmakers, including military veterans Reps. Mike Waltz and Seth Moulton, participated in a volunteer cleaning of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial ahead of Memorial Day. Waltz, a combat-decorated Green Beret, has led the effort in hand-washing the memorial in Washington in recent years. Based on a video by Jake Tapper from CNN.

    Happy 249th Birthday Marines

For 249 years, Marines have served as our Nation's sentinels of freedom. As we celebrate our Corps' birthday this year, I encourage all Marines to reflect on our legacy forged in blood on battlefields since 1775, and to rededicate ourselves to carrying that legacy untarnished into the future.

    Happy Birthday Marines
